A team of Collierville Police, Fire and Public Service officials is offering emergency preparedness classes designed by FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Following a major disaster, first responders may not be able to meet the needs of the entire community due to numbers of victims, communication failures and road blockages. People will have to rely on each other for help in meeting immediate life saving and life sustaining needs. Most neighbors can be expected to volunteer assistance but may lack the knowledge and skills required to do the most good for the greatest number.
The purpose of the CERT program is to teach citizens decision-making and physical skills to help family and neighbors without placing themselves in unnecessary danger. Instructors with the Police Department, Fire Department and Town of Collierville will cover:

Classes
will be taught at the Collierville Police Training Room at 91 Walnut (the old
library). This is a free, comprehensive course and will require attendance of
all three dates for certification. There are two sessions later this year,
please visit the application section below for more information. This is a comprehensive course and will require attendance
of all classes for certification. Any students receiving certification will be
given an opportunity to sign up to be a community trainer. A hold harmless
agreement is required and will be provided at the first class. If these
dates do not meet your needs we will offer additional class soon, check the website
