Background Investigation

Officers of the Collierville  Police Department will conduct a complete and thorough investigation  of your background to determine your suitability for employment as a Police Officer.

 

The following occurrence in your background could result in rejection of your application


Training

Collierville  Police Officers will complete an extensive Basic Training course at a State of Tennessee certified Police Training Academy.  Upon graduation from the Academy the new police officer will be assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division for a probationary period of twelve month.  During the probationary period the new officer will work under the direct guidance of an experienced Field Training Officer.

 

 

 

 

 


Advancement Opportunities

The field for advancement opportunities is open to all members from Officer to Chief.  Your future success and promotion potential rests solely in your hands.  The department developed a Performance Evaluation System, whereby a Supervisory Officer evaluates each Officer periodically.
