Patrol Division

The Uniform Patrol Division is responsible for 24-hour, 7 day a week patrol of the Town and is the largest single division within the Police Department. In addition to being a first responder to all criminal calls, the Patrol Division also addresses a myriad of calls that include complaints, information, enforcement of traffic ordinances and crime prevention. Included in the Uniform Patrol Division are specialized units such as the Traffic Unit, K-9 Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), Crime Scene Unit and the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).

The Special Weapons and Tactics Team
(SWAT) are specialists trained to resolve high-risk situations such as hostage taking,
barricade incidents, dignitary protection and bomb threats.
Members of the
Crime Scene Unit are trained to respond to certain scenes in which a crime has happened,
such as a burglary, robbery and thefts. These officers take pictures, lift fingerprints
and secure evidence. The officers assist the Criminal Investigations Division in violent
crime scenes for evidence processing.
The Crisis Intervention Team is made
up of officers who have volunteered to receive specialized training in the area of mental
illness. This training enables the members of

is the mission of the Collierville Police Department’s Strategic Tracking and
Recovery Unit to locate missing persons, primarily those persons missing as a
result of criminal activity, escape, runaway, natural and man made disasters,
and disorientation. Our mission
is carried out through the use of specially trained personnel and resources at
the disposal of this agency, with special attention paid to the safety of all
parties involved. Further, it is our mission to educate members of this
community in tracking and recovery in an effort to enhance this Units
effectiveness in preventing criminal activity, in tracking and recovery during
large-scale operations, and public safety awareness in the woodland regions of
Collierville.
