Dear Neighbor

Welcome to the town of Collierville. You have chosen a friendly, safe, neighborly town for your home. A town where you can feel safe and secure on the streets while walking, jogging, or shopping and feel secure within your home as well.

Officers of the Collierville Police Department take pride in their work of protecting and serving the citizens of this community. They are well trained and motivated to do an excellent job. Our average overall response time to calls in Collierville is 4.7 minutes or less.  Collierville has "Enhanced 911" capabilities.  This means that when you call 911 in an emergency, your name and address appear automatically on the screen in our Communications Division and a patrol car is required to respond to the address.

The Collierville Police Department is a "full service" department that has several programs available to the citizens of the community. Our Explorer Program is directed toward youth, between the ages of 14 - 20 who may have an interest in law enforcement. For additional information, contact Lt. Norman Dixon at 457-2562.

The Neighborhood Watch Program is directed towards neighborhoods like yours because we strongly believe in, support and promote the Neighborhood Watch Program. The Neighborhood Watch Program has proven to be the best approach to detecting and deterring crime that we have ever tried. If there is not a Neighborhood Watch in your neighborhood, please call the Collierville Police Department and we will assist you in starting one. If there are already signs posted in your neighborhood, you can call our department and ask for Lt. Norman Dixon at 457-2562, who is in charge of Neighborhood Watch, and he can advise you of the contact person for your neighborhood.

We are also proud of our Special Citizen Volunteer Program, which was started in 1993. If you are interested in this program, please contact Lt. Norman Dixon at 457-2562.

A new program that we have implemented is the Citizen's Police Academy. This 10-week program is conducted twice a year, in the spring and the fall. It provides the citizens of Collierville an opportunity to see how their Police Department operates and in turn, allows them to become ambassadors to the community for the Police Department. For more information contact Lt. David Townsend at 457-2560.

We realize that peace of mind means a great deal to everyone.  If you notice anything suspicious, or have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact the Collierville Police Department.  We are on duty 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to call us.

Sincerely,
